Bad Code and Anti-patterns - a few examples of how to not write test code

Hi everyone,

Announcing this meetup to give you something to look forward to in the new year! Venue and sponsors to follow

Abstract

Tell me does this sound familiar to you?

"Test Code is not production quality code and we don't need to hire experts who know how to write code to do automation."

What about this:

"I don't have time to review your test code. It is not important, anything can go there."

"The automation is unreliable. We don't care that those tests are failing they are always failing."

Test code is often ignored second class citizen where it is quite commonly believed that anyone can write it.

At the next Belfast Selenium meetup, I will show you a few examples of what is going to happen if these beliefs will run unchallenged for too long. We will look at a few code examples and discuss how those projects performed.
