New development centre creates 10 jobs in Belfast

  • London based financial services and information technology consultancy chooses Belfast for new development centre.

McGinnis Consulting, based in London and founded by Marius and Anne-Marie McGinnis, has chosen Northern Ireland for a new 10 person financial services and software development centre at the Innovation Factory in Belfast.

The recent start-up company provides financial services and information technology consultancy to Tier 1 banks across Europe and focuses on credit, market and regulatory risk business areas within the financial services industry.

The positions will be in areas of business analysis and project management and will offer an average salary of £40,000.

It is a further boost for Belfast after job annoucements from US law firm Baker McKenzie and multi-disciplinary surveying and design consultancy GIA last week.

“Northern Ireland is in possession of one of the best educated financial services workforces in Europe, so it was a natural choice to locate our business here," said Marius McGinnis, Managing Director of McGinnis Consulting, who is originally from Northern Ireland.

“As financial institutions move away from a cost focused strategy, to a more value-added location strategy, we believe Northern Ireland is uniquely positioned to take advantage of this growing opportunity. I am happy to report that our clients agree."

Invest Northern Ireland has offered the company £60,000 towards the new jobs and Alan Wilson, Invest Northern Ireland, Director of International Investment said: “This new development centre in West Belfast will offer opportunities to experienced professionals to work on international blue chip projects.

"There are high quality Business Analyst and Project Management roles on offer, working in a niche financial services market.”
