Belfast-based Wavteq expands its global headcount with new senior hires

  • Since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, Wavteq has expanded its headcount hiring 18 staff globally.

    The economic development & FDI advisory firm with practitioners across the globe, has expanded its presence in Europe, North America, Asia and the Middle East. 

    The company has also announced that it has hired Guillermo Mazier as its President of the Americas.

    Prior to accepting a position with Wavteq, Guillermo served as the vice president of global innovation at Conway Data Inc leading the PR and Marketing business division of the company to new heights.

    With a long history in the economic development industry, specialising in innovation, location marketing and technology enabled solutions for the community leaders, Guillermo will lead Wavteq’s growth in the Americas.

    Speaking about the new appointment,  Henry Loewendahl, CEO of Wavteq said:“We have seen Guillermo’s impressive impact in the industry for the better half of a decade. He has an excellent reputation and perhaps most importantly, he shares our values."

    Based in Phoenix, Guillermo will liaise closely with Wavteq’s global teams based in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, and Asia to deliver cutting-edge solutions to customers in every corner of the globe.

    In July 2021, the company hired Joana Carreiro as its Principal Consultant. Prior to joining Wavteq, Joana worked for five years with McKinsey & Company, based in Germany.

    Wavteq also hired Joy Priya as its Manager of Consulting in 2021. Joy previously worked for Conway Data Inc and is based in Berlin, Germany.

    Alex DiPaola has also joined the company’s consulting team as Trade & Investment Consultant. Alex, a graduate student from the London School of Economics, is currently based at the company’s headquarters in Belfast.

    The company is also focusing on expansion in the Middle East, with hires made in Dubai throughout 2020 and 2021. Tapan Sahni was appointed as Vice President for the Middle East and Shivani Sharma will take on the role of Lead Generation Manager for the Middle East and Africa.

    Adam McHugh has also been appointed as the Head of Product Marketing for Wavteq. Adam, previously employed by the Financial Times, will be responsible for strategising the company’s FDI focused products.

    Wavteq has expanded its presence in India, hiring eight staff between its offices in Bangalore and Mumbai.

    The company has also made hires in the US, hiring Steven Neiland as Chief Software Architect and Roshaili Osman as FDI Lead Generation Manager for North America.

    The company’s UK Lead Generation division also got a boost in 2021 with the appointment of Rory McRobbie. Rory recently completed a Masters in Economics at the University of Surrey.
