Amazon has secured the rights to stream Premier League matches

  • Amazon has secured the rights to stream Premier League matches in the UK for next season.

The deal will see the streaming service showcase 20 matches a season for the next three years.

They will stream every game from the first round of midweek games in December, and all 10 games on Boxing Day, according to the BBC.

“This will be the first time a full round of Premier League fixtures will be broadcast live in the UK,” notes Amazon.

Earlier this year, the Premier League had announced they had sold five out of their seven TV packages. BT secured 32 games, while Sky acquired four of their packages, totalling to 128 matches.

The company has also confirmed that there will be no additional costs to Prime subscribers to stream these matches.
