Global Payments make big NI impact after being shortlisted for three Digital DNA awards

  • US-headquartered fintech, Global Payments has demonstrated its growing impact within the Northern Ireland tech scene, after being shortlisted for three awards at the Digital DNA 2021 Awards

    Global Payments Inc, formerly Cayan and TSYS, first arrived in NI as Merchant Warehouse in 2013.

    The card-processing firm now has offices in Belfast and Foyle that are recognised as Centres of Excellence.

    The company was recognised in the following Digital DNA categories, which celebrate the best of the local technology community. 

    “The Digital Innovation of the Year” recognises teams that have delivered a major digital project.
    Shortlisted: Payments at a Distance - Global Payments Integrated 

    “The Developer of the Year” recognises a rock star engineer who has produced ingenious work with real impact.
    Shortlisted: Miguel Esteves - Development Architect 

    “The Young Person of the Year” award recognises an individual under the age of 30, who is really disrupting the market through their radical innovation, energy and endless creativity.
    Shortlisted: Daniela Brown - Staff Software Engineer 

    A delighted Scott Wallace, Senior Director of Engineering at Global Payments commented: “We're delighted that Daniela and Miguel have been recognised via shortlisting in their respective categories, it's very much deserved for two excellent engineers.
