QUB needs participants for COVID-19 psychology survey

  • Researchers at Queen’s University Belfast (QUB) are currently running a study on the psychological impacts of COVID-19 across the population of the island of Ireland.

Members of the university’s Stress, Trauma and Related Conditions lab are running the survey without any supporting funding.

Professor of Psychology Cherie Armour said that several team members have redirected all their time to it.

The survey can be accessed via qubcovid19.org and can be taken by anyone living in Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland.

Prof Cherie Armour added that the first survey will take around 20 minutes to complete, with subsequent surveys lasting for approximately 10 minutes.

She said: “We’re going to ask you questions such as your exposures to COVID-19, how worried you are about COVID-19 and how socially connected you feel to others at this time.

"Is self-isolation making you feel more lonely than normal? Because we also understand it’s normal to feel anxious in this situation, we are going to ask you questions about whether you feel more depressed or anxious as a result of COVID-19.”
