Startup World Cup pitch competition returns to Belfast

  • Belfast Global Shapers will bring the Startup World Cup back to Belfast for the third year next month.

The start-up competition is an international event which seeks to give the opportunity of winning $1,000,000 investment to a new business.

Some of Northern Ireland's most exciting companies will have the opportunity to pitch their business concepts to experienced leaders and investors, with the winning entrepreneurs selected for the USA hosted final later in the year.

The Belfast heat of the Startup World Cup will be held in the Ormeau Baths on 25th February, with the international final in San Francisco on 22nd May.

Axial3D was crowned the winner of the Belfast heat last year. The company is a medical 3D printing company specialising in the production of patient-specific medical models to enhance the efficiency of surgical intervention.

Whilst the start-up didn’t win, the competition allowed the organisation to take the business to the next level and promote the business globally.

If you are keen to take part, start-up businesses are now able to apply here.
