Tech Nation's FinTech Scaleup Growth Programme is open for applications

  • The Tech Nation 2019 FinTech Growth Programme is now open for applications from Northern Irish FinTech leaders, promising six months of strategic scaleup support.

Tech Nation's FinTech Growth Programme is designed help startups in the financial services and technology scene scale up rapidly to deliver their services into new markets and attract significant investment. The 2018 intake produced some impressive results, with an average of £1.1m raised by the companies in the scheme and many going on to successfully export their products and services worldwide.

The six-month programme of support is part of HM Treasury's FinTech Strategy for the year, and aims to support the rapidly growing UK financial services sector that generated around £4.5 billion in funding between 2015 and 2018. Part of the UK's growth strategy has been to promote companies outside of London, such as financial startups in Belfast who have access to our pool of local talent.

Support is delivered directly to FinTech CEOs through nine intensive insights sessions delivered by top entrepreneurs in the field, covering everything from regulation and partnering with established financial services firms to scaling up and expanding internationally. Those selected for the scheme will also be able to attend networking events with key people in the field, and join an international showcase trip to the US to attract investment.

A total of 25 companies will be selected from across the UK, and companies applying must already have a financial product in a market that is being actively used. The company can be B2B or B2C focused and must be in the seed funding or Series A equivalent funding stage and actively seeking investment. Previous years of this scheme were only open for B2B services, but Tech Nation has clearly seen the potential in customer-facing financial solutions this year.

Applications for the scheme close on 9th July, so head over to https://technation.io/fintech/ to register your interest in the scheme.
