First Trust announces two year charity partnership with Age NI

  • First Trust Bank has announced a new two-year partnership with Northern Ireland charity Age NI, focusing on education, community engagement, and fundraising.

First Trust Bank is one of Northern Ireland's most well-known financial institutions with over 15 branches across the country. The bank frequently partners with charities and has now announced that its official partner for the next two years will be Age NI, one of the main charities that helps elderly people in the region.

Age NI helps older people with free advice and support on a wide range of issues, from applying for benefits to providing services for the lonely and vulnerable in society. The charity provides thousands of hours of direct care for older people in Northern Ireland each year, and with First Trust's support it will be able to offer its services to more people.

The partnership will see First Trust Bank launch a digital ambassador programme that will seek to engage older customers and help them make the switch to digital banking. It will also provide financial education for those who can't manage their own finances well, and will help raise awareness and finances to support Age NI on an ongoing basis.

Kevin Nealon, Head of Retail at First Trust Bank, commented: "We are really pleased to announce this partnership with Age NI. We are excited about the plans that are in place, that will not only have a positive impact on our customers and the community across Northern Ireland, but will also raise vital funds for this admirable charity. This partnership will help embed our purpose which is to back our customers to achieve their dreams and ambitions."

Linda Robinson, Chief Executive of Age NI concluded: "It’s absolutely fantastic to see how enthusiastic and passionate staff are about supporting older people across Northern Ireland, and we have no doubt that First Trust Bank’s customers will be as equally supportive. There are lots of exciting initiatives planned over the two year partnership, so keep an eye in your local First Trust Bank to see how you can get involved."
