Allstate Northern Ireland rolls out Ready to Resume Program for IT returners

  • Allstate Northern Ireland is accepting applications for a 12-week return-to-work scheme for IT professionals out of work for more than two years.

    Allstate NI is committed to finding the best candidates regardless of their background, and a new initiative called Ready to Resume aims to target IT professionals who have found themselves out of work for an extended period. The scheme seeks to help veteran IT professionals return to the workplace at a level that reflects their previous work experience, without the need for CV reviews or a formal interview process.

    Smashing the barriers that prevent IT professionals from returning to the workplace is paramount: Successful applicants are guaranteed career mentorship and coaching throughout year one on the job, and the 12-week reskilling period that precedes a potential permanent job offer is paid.

    The large, progressive company offers a fantastic opportunity for unemployed professionals to work in a vibrant tech-focused environment with all the perks and flexibility expected of a modern workplace. "Getting back to IT" is daunting for many, especially if key technical skills haven't been adequately flexed during the unemployment period, so this is a welcome offering that makes making the leap much smoother.

    Essential Criteria
    -- Have you been out of employment for 2+ years?
    -- Do you have 3+ years of Software Development Experience?
    -- Do you hold an IT qualification (HND or Degree)?
    -- Can you recommence full-time employment? (Flexible working arrangements available on offer of employment)
    -- Be willing to participate in a 12-week paid reskilling programme?

    The Process
    -- Attend an Open Day (not mandatory): Tues 28 May, 2.00pm-3.30pm OR Wed 12 June, 09.30am-11.00am 
    -- Register online & Complete an 'About You' form (by 14 June)
    -- Complete an online Aptitude Test: (25-27 June/Details supplied following Registration)
    -- Come In: meet some of our team and let's find out more about each other! No Formal Interview (W/C 3 July)
    -- Feedback & Offers (W/C 21 July)
    -- Training Contract & 12-week training programme (Beginning 16 Sept- Mid Dec 2019)
    -- Potential Permanent Job Offer and transition into the organization (19 Dec 2019)
