Virgin Media opens new Belfast headquarters, celebrates £65m investment

  • Virgin Media has opened new headquarters in Belfast as part of an on ongoing investment in Northern Ireland's internet infrastructure.

Internet service provider and media company Virgin Media has opened its brand new Belfast headquarters at the Heron Avenue business campus in Belfast. The new Belfast headquarters will house most of the company's 350 Belfast-based employees and comes as Virgin reaches £65m invested in Northern Ireland since 2015.

The Belfast office will be responsible for overseeing further investment in products and services across Northern Ireland, both to retail customers and commercial clients. Over 100,000 buildings in Northern Ireland have been connected to Virgin's gigabit network since the current expansion programme began in 2015.

Virgin currently offers internet speeds of up to 362Mbps to over 300,000 homes and businesses, and this is set to increase in Spring with the rollout of its first 500Mbps service. Virgin's investment in infrastructure in Northern Ireland has led to 98% coverage throughout Belfast and rising levels of coverage across the region.
