EDGE Innovate invests £8m in new plant and new people as business grows

  • Dungannon-based EDGE Innovate is implementing a four-year expansion programme focused on innovation, employment, skill, and export growth.

It has been announced that nearly £8 million is being invested into the business, including an expansion of its production and office facilities and the construction of a new 37,500ft factory. The investment will also create 80 new positions and a leadership and skills development programme.

“EDGE Innovate is a global exporter on a significant growth trajectory. We have worked closely with the company for a number of years now, most recently with our Scaling Team and it is a pleasure to visit today to see the results of the company’s commitment”, commented Alistair Hamilton, Invest Northern Ireland Chief Executive.

“This investment by the company is as a result of this ambitious growth and is a significant commitment to its future, its staff and the local area”, continued Hamilton.

Recruitment for the 80 new positions is already taking place, with half of those roles already in place. The rest of the roles will be created over the course of the year. Invest NI has offered the materials handling equipment manufacturer over £957,000 towards its investments aimed at driving continued export growth.

“Our sales and marketing department has been working with Invest NI’s teams in-market to realise new export sales. The contract signed earlier this year in Oman for our industrial waste shredder was as a result of an introduction by Invest NI”, added Niall McKiver, Operations Director Edge Innovator.
