FinTrU announces Theatre Bursary in partnership with the Lyric Theatre

  • On Friday 12 October the FinTrU Theatre Bursary was launched in conjunction with the Lyric Theatre.

The FinTrU Theatre Bursary has been created to help individuals who have engaged significantly with the Creative Learning Programme at the Lyric Theatre and are embarking on or are currently undertaking recognised professional theatre training.

FinTrU Founder and CEO, Darragh McCarthy, said of the bursary “we are thrilled to announce our partnership with the Lyric Theatre in the form of the FinTrU Theatre Bursary. We feel this fits perfectly with our company vision in providing local talent with the opportunity to perform on the global stage. We want to help those who ordinarily would not have this opportunity pursue their dreams.”

Philip Crawford, Creative Learning Co-ordinator said “We firmly believe that it is through effective training that young theatre practitioners achieve excellence in the standard of their work. Through this generous funding from FinTrU, we can now provide practical support. This means the Creative Learning department at the Lyric provides training for those applying to Drama School, financial assistance while they’re there, and employment opportunities when they graduate.”
