The Software Alliance launches recruitment drive for Chief Executive

  • The Software Alliance has announced it is recruiting for a Chief Executive to take the organisation forward.

Officially launched earlier this month as the voice of Northern Ireland’s £1.7 billion software industry, the alliance will appoint a permanent Chief Executive in the coming weeks to act as the main representative for the NI software sector.

Established in 2022 by independent companies Allstate NI, Civica NI, GCD Technologies, Instil Software, Liberty IT and Kainos, the Software Alliance exists to represent the interests of software companies in Northern Ireland, and to lobby and support policy development to see Northern Ireland become a world-leading region for innovative software businesses.

Having built a strong reputation with government and wider society, the alliance wishes to appoint an individual with knowledge of the public policy environment, who will maintain a positive relationship with political figures, policy officials and wider stakeholders.

As the principal policy adviser to the alliance, its Chair, and Board of Directors, will have at least five years’ experience in the Northern Ireland software sector or with a member organisation; possess the skills to manage a small organisation and its finances; and have an awareness of the high-level issues facing the industry.

The Software Alliance Chairperson, John Healy OBE said: “The Software Alliance has achieved a great deal as an organisation in its first year of existence. From a group of six independent companies, we have developed into an organisation that represents thousands in the industry. As our membership continues to grow, we are pleased to be in a position to recruit a permanent Chief Executive who will act as our main representative, leading the organisation forward as we work together on the issues that impact the industry as a whole. I would encourage any senior professionals who feel they have the relevant skills and experience to get in touch with us about this exciting and rewarding position”.

Applicants are asked to submit a CV and covering letter to admin@thesoftwareallianceni.co.uk before 5pm on Friday 7 April 2023.
