  • Liberty IT continues reign as a ‘great place to work’ for the 5th year

Leading IT company, Liberty Information Technology (Liberty IT), once again has reason to celebrate after being announced for the fifth time in recent years as one of the UK’s Best Workplaces through Great Place to Work®.  The only Northern Ireland organisation to be ranked on the top 50 medium sized companies list (50 – 499 employees) as well as making Ireland’s best small workplaces 2016 list after only 2 years in operation, Liberty IT is setting the standard for employee engagement and satisfaction.

The methodology behind the Great Place to Work list makes it one of the most rigorous available and uniquely comprises both an employee survey and an audit into organisations’ management and HR practices, together providing a holistic view of the company.

Liberty IT employs almost 500 staff members and is an integral part of Liberty Mutual Insurance’s worldwide IT operations, providing complex IT solutions across a wide variety of roles.  Contributing factors to the company’s ranking this year include its high trust, high engagement and workplace culture.

“We are delighted to continue our tradition as one of the UK’s Best Workplaces again this year as well as being ranked on the Ireland list on our first time entering,” said William Hamilton, Managing Director, Liberty IT. “Having achieved this UK recognition five times is a major accomplishment for our team, and as the only Northern Ireland-based company appearing on the list, it shows how we are leading the way in workplace culture locally and building our reputation across the UK and Ireland as a major player in the IT industry.”

Cathy Donnelly, HR Director, Liberty IT added, “Trust, engagement and leadership are key to creating a great workplace, business and brand, and this survey enables us to identify areas of importance to our employees and create plans which help us to continually make improvements for the whole team.”

Tom O’Byrne, CEO, Great Place to Work® said: “We are delighted to see Liberty Information Technology on our Best Workplaces list this year. It is a validation of the strength of their leadership and their commitment to creating the kind of culture where employees enjoy coming to work and want to do their best. The hallmark of a great workplace like Liberty IT is that their policies and practices are designed around the employee; this employee focus helps attract and retain the talent essential for driving and sustaining competitive performance.”
