Lecturers (Education) in Criminology

    This post is available for 11 months from September 2018 and will contribute to the delivery of a high quality undergraduate and postgraduate educational portfolio in Sociology and to the School’s outreach activity and teaching-related administration.

    The post holder will deliver a range of teaching and assessment activities in youth justice at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and criminological theory at undergraduate level, within an established programme including lectures, tutorials/seminars, setting/marking coursework, practicals, and field work to undergraduates and postgraduates.

    The successful candidate must have:
    • A PhD (or be about to obtain) in a relevant area of Law or Social Science.
    • Teaching experience using a range of teaching methods.
    • Experience of marking written assignments
    • Ability to design course materials and to plan and organise the delivery and assessment of taught courses in own specialism.
    • Effective interpersonal skills to liaise with students and colleagues and work as part of a team.

    Salary scale: £32,548 - £38,833 per annum (potential to progress to £42,418 per annum through sustained exceptional contribution)
