Support Officer

    The Directorate of Academic and Student Affairs provides services to the Academic sector and for students. It is responsible for academic regulations and quality assurance, and for the enhancement of learning and teaching. 
    Student Services and Systems resides within Academic and Student Affairs and provides a broad range of services to both students and staff.

    The core functions of the department are: 

    • Delivery of the core student administrative functions for the University in the provision of all Registry Services: Enrolment and Registration, Examinations and Graduation services including daily assistance to resolution of student issues.
    • The cross-functional operational service delivery of student information systems to all Schools, Directorate and Students across the University.
    • Delivery of strategic, business critical projects that form part of the University’s Strategic Student Information Systems Development Plan.

    The Project Support Officer role involves working in close liaison with the Project Manager, Qsis Programme Manager and other key stakeholders in order to support delivery of the project. This post is available for two years.

    Working as part of a team, the post holder will provide project management support including: creation and archiving of project files; validation and updating of project plans; supervision, production and dissemination of project communications such as newsletters, project actions and minutes from project meetings; and assistance with other project activities such as business requirements gathering, workshop facilitation and reporting.

    The successful candidate must have:

    • Academic and/or vocational qualifications, i.e. NVQ Level 3, A levels (or equivalent)
    • 3 years’ recent experience working in a project support, or similar, role.
    • Experience of working in a project environment.
    • Excellent IT skills including experience of Office software (word-processing, spreadsheets, Visio, email, web etc.)
    • Experience of dealing with e-mail and internet.
    • Experience in the use of MS Project

    Salary scale: £23,557 - £27,285 per annum (potential to progress to £28,936 per annum through sustained exceptional contribution)
